22: The Law of Synchronicity

“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”

—Buddhist Proverb

Introduction

There are no accidents or coincidences in life.

Everything happens at the right time, in the right moment, and in the right situation.

When one forces a situation when the time or situations are not ripe, the result can be a catastrophe.

When one wishes for something to happen, but it does not come true to fulfill one’s desires, one is left disappointed or dismayed.

When one stubbornly expects a desired outcome to occur but falls ill or becomes depressed as a result, one is attached to and overly identified with the outcome.

When one hopes for the impossible dream to come true and grows resentful if it does not, one is detached from all reality.

Miracles happen when all factors are aligned with one’s life and occur precisely when they need to.

However, no one would know when they happen. All life is an experience of the divine and wonderful moments; all else is a form of waiting.

Thus, there is no need to force anything. Go with the flow, cherishing the now, and relish the future when wondrous things arrive.

Detach yourself from the outcome and expectations, and you will never be disappointed. When unexpected miracles occur, even the smallest blessings become as radiant as supernovas.

The law of synchronicity is how the One, the divine cosmic intelligence, communicates with us.

Nothing is accidental—not even the ‘accidental’ steps of evolution in the evolution of teeth.

Teeth likely began as small, tooth-like skin protrusions in early vertebrates, used for sensing and protection.

Over time, these dermal structures migrated into the mouth. They evolved into true teeth, a shift that occurred unintentionally through evolutionary change.

Without this “accident,” none of us here would have a jaw or teeth!

Likewise, even the janitor who sweeps an apartment’s floors every day is not without purpose.

His act of cleaning the floor may brighten an inventor’s mood, causing a revolutionary breakthrough that positively impacts humanity.

Believe that you are destined to remain single and never have a partner because the special one has not yet arrived?

It is because you are not yet ready. Such a person will enter your life, per some pre-life contract, when the time and place are ripe.

You are close to forty but have not yet succeeded in life? It is because you are being prepared up till that point, ready to unleash your talents when the time is ripe.

Mournful of the person who died at forty-five, but had so much healing and psychic potential to help others?

According to the Kryon (channeled by Lee Carroll) readings, it could be because he was arranged to die early, so he could be at the precise time in a future life to perform even more benefits.

There are no accidents. Let the cosmos arrange for the best to occur in your most relevant interest.

Tetris as an Analogy

I illustrate the law of synchronicity throughout my entire Tetris career.

Many things have happened in Tetris that I did not know would blossom into something more, to what I have become and created today.

Today, my career as a writer of five Tetris books is the result of many events I had considered “accidents.”

I first started playing Puyo Puyo when I was six years old, and I wrote a short twenty-page guidebook about it that year. It is the Japanese equivalent of Tetris, using beads instead of blocks.

To me,Puyo Puyo had always been a hobby of novelty, which I played merely for entertainment with no expectations.

Six years ago, a new game called Puyo Puyo Tetris was released on Steam. It is a cross-over between Puyo Puyo and Tetris. I bought it straightaway, “accidentally,” because I loved Puyo Puyo.

I knew nothing about Tetris.

In my first Tetris match, I “accidentally” played against PokeDialga, the top Taiwanese Tetris player. It was a disaster.

He used the following method against me, known as ST stacking:

Diagram Set 22-1
12
The player puts a vertical Z as a base to create a T-spin double. He lowers the T piece into the cavity to complete a T-spin double line clear.
34
You get this shape. The player puts a vertical Z to make another T-spin double. He upstacks to make the T-spin overhang with the lavender blocks.
56
The player completes the T-spin double line clear. This leaves this pattern.
78
The player stacks Z again to make a T-spin double. He upstacks to make the T-spin overhang with the lavender blocks. He concludes with another T-spin double line clear.
910
The player gets this shape. Note how the red blocks heighten by one block after every T-spin double iteration. He places another vertical Z on the far right. Here is another crucial step: he creates overhangs with gaps, separated by two-block heights, repeating. The player then stacks vertical Zs on the far right and spams T-spin doubles.
1112
The following T-spin double line clear concludes. He continues repeating the T-spin doubles. After every three T-spin doubles, you must put an I on the extreme right to Tetris.

ST stacking involves a form of repeatable stacking to chain an infinite number of clean T-spin doubles and Tetrises to attack an opponent.

Then I watched the top Japanese Tetris player, Amemiya, on YouTube. His gameplay blew me away.

All these catalyzed my desire to aspire to be as good as these players one day. And so it began a six-year journey to reach those ranks.

I then devoured one Tetris guide after another, achieving incredible feats within the first two weeks of playing. This involved making mid-game T-spin triples by my third day of playing. I could also make eight back-to-back perfect clears in my first week of play. I then memorized fifty openers by week two.

I then “accidentally” met Davdav and Cosin, who are now the founders of the well-known Tetris guide website called four.lol.

They advised me to set up a Twitch account to stream Tetris. Today, my ei_lara Tetris Twitch channel has grown to almost 800 followers.

This deed allowed me to compile five years of Tetris footage and post them as YouTube videos. My YouTube channel, GalactoidTetris, now has more than a hundred high-level clips and videos.

Then, specific issues within the Tetris community “accidentally” arose, prompting me to take the solitary route. It made me create Galactoid Tetris WordPress, the beginning of all things.

Over five years, I would laboriously research Tetris and publish all my ideas there. I did not know that it would eventually serve as the inspiration for my How to Tetris guidebook series.

And I would not have known that it led me to create this Tetris spirituality book today.

Everything that had happened before this—from meeting PokeDialga, Davdav, Cosin, and more—occurred because of what I thought to be “accidents.”

I now see it as a larger, grander cosmic plan, arranged so I can finally write this book and share my spiritual knowledge with others.

Perhaps it was an “accident,” but now I see that making this book free on my website is what is needed to fulfill my life’s self-karma to teach spiritual lessons and manifest universal love and oneness.

This was my tale. What is yours?

Personal, Social, and Global Applications

The law of synchronicity entails that higher-order cosmic plans are in place all the time. We can work on plans and maybe even “rush” them. However, we cannot force the outcome.

What happens when we force situations or outcomes? This happens, using Tetris as an analogy:

Diagram Set 22-2
12
In step 2, many Ts are wasted upstacking to make the setup. The setup is also dirty and has severe parity issues, leading to stacking over holes.

Here, the player forces the creation of an ultra-advanced T-spin setup. The setup above features four T-spin doubles. However, the right pieces or the field shape were not correct at the start.

Hence, the player stacks dirtily, creating holes and extremely overstacked, jagged shapes through poor stacking.

Instead, one should not have forced situations but instead gone with the flow like this:

Diagram Set 22-3
12
The left side of the stack is nearly fully stacked. The player only needs S, I, and L to complete the BT-STSD.

Here, the player only needs to put three pieces to make the T-spin setup. This BT-STSD setup has three T-spin doubles inside.

The setup is hence opportunistic, created when all factors, such as field dependencies, the right incoming pieces, and having enough T pieces, arise.

This law of synchronicity can be applied to real life in the following ways:

  1. Attach not to outcomes. Simply observe and detach yourself from expectations. Flow with life and let miracles arise when they come.
  2. Do not force anything to happen before maturity. You can plan for and actively work towards them, but one can never force what is not meant to be.
  3. Life is not a battleground or a race. There is no need to “rush” anything way faster than your spirit’s, body’s, or life’s natural rhythm. Relax and enjoy the flow of the moment.
  4. Life can only be beheld in all its glory at the end of one’s life. Do not fret if life is not going according to your plans. It is the same as reading a novel. You do not judge a novel to be terrible just from its first half. You judge it only after seeing the ending.
  5. See many things as opportunities. When bad things happen to you, such as a poor social system, use it to learn from such and grow spiritually.

When we live in accordance with this, the cosmos unfolds in ways unimaginable to our benefit.
