Introduction
Things Happen When It Is Time
Few accidents or coincidences happen in life.
Many things happen at the right time, in the right moment, and in the right situation.[1]
When one forces a situation before the time or circumstances are ripe, the result can be a catastrophe.
When one wishes for something to happen, but it does not come true to fulfill one’s desires, one is left disappointed or dismayed.
When one stubbornly expects a desired outcome but falls ill or becomes depressed as a result, one is attached to and overly identified with that outcome.
When one hopes for the impossible dream to come true and grows resentful if it does not, one is detached from all reality.
Miracles happen when all factors are aligned with one’s life and occur precisely when they need to.
However, no one would know when they happen. All life is an experience of the divine and wonderful moments; all else is waiting.
Afterlife studies suggest that many core life milestones are arranged before birth. They happen when the time arises.[2]
Thus, there is no need to force anything. Go with the flow, cherish the now, and relish the future when wondrous things arrive.[3]
Detach yourself from the outcome and expectations, and you will never be disappointed. When unexpected miracles occur, even the smallest blessings become as radiant as supernovas.
This is the law of synchronicity.
Concrete Examples of Synchronicity
The law of synchronicity is how the One arranges our life paths for us.
Nothing is accidental — not even the ‘accidental’ steps of evolution in the evolution of teeth.
Teeth likely began as small, tooth-like skin protrusions in early vertebrates, used for sensing and protection.
Over time, these dermal structures migrated into the mouth. They evolved into true teeth, a shift that happened unintentionally through evolution.[4]
Without this “accident,” none of us here would have a jaw or teeth!
Likewise, even the janitor who sweeps an apartment’s floors every day has a purpose.
His act of cleaning the floor may brighten an inventor’s mood, causing a revolutionary breakthrough that positively impacts humanity.[5]
Believe that you are destined to remain single and never have a partner because the special one has not yet arrived?
According to NDE accounts and afterlife studies, it is because you are not yet ready. Someone may enter your life, per some pre-life contract, when the time and place are right.
You are close to forty but have not yet succeeded in life? It is because you are being prepared up to that point, ready to unleash your talents when the time is ripe.[6]
Mournful of the person who died at forty-five, but had so much healing and psychic potential to help others?
According to the Kryon (channeled by Lee Carroll) readings, it could be because he was arranged to die early, so he could be at the precise time in a future life to perform even more benefits.[7]
This law reminds me of a scene in the movie The Prince of Egypt, where a high priest helped the biblical Moses see matters through heaven’s eyes.
He advised that you may never know your current purpose until far into the future, when you realize how it fits into a cosmic whole.
In my master’s thesis, I explored how some cancer patients realized that their painful cancer experience fit together after they were cured, which made them realize the big picture. They grew spiritually because of overcoming it.
Events are only disconnected and irrelevant if no mind reflects on and connects them. That changes when a spirit does.
Hence, disconnected events may seem irrelevant in the short term. However, in the long term, when we look back, our consciousness connects the dots.
What were once accidents or coincidences become important milestones that led to a greater whole.
There are no accidents. Let the cosmos arrange for the best to occur in your most relevant interest.
Tetris as an Analogy
I illustrate the law of synchronicity throughout my entire Tetris career.
Many things happened in Tetris that I did not know would blossom into what I have become and created today.
Today, my career as the writer of many Tetris books comes from many events I once considered “accidents.”
I first played Puyo Puyo when I was six years old, and that year I wrote a short twenty-page guidebook about it. It is the Japanese equivalent of Tetris, using beads instead of blocks.
To me, Puyo Puyo had always been a hobby of novelty, which I played merely for entertainment with no expectations.
Seven years ago, a new game called Puyo Puyo Tetris was released on Steam. It is a crossover between Puyo Puyo and Tetris. I bought it straightaway, “accidentally,” because I loved Puyo Puyo.
I knew nothing about Tetris.
In my first Tetris match, I “accidentally” played against PokeDialga, the top Taiwanese Tetris player. It was a disaster.
He used the following method against me, called ST stacking. In layperson’s terms, it is just a way to spam attacks at an opponent like a machine gun. Cool, right?
| Diagram Set 22-1 | |
| 1 | 2 |

| The player puts a vertical Z as a base to create a T-spin. | He lowers the T piece into the cavity to complete a T-spin line clear. |
| 3 | 4 |

| You get this shape. | The player puts a vertical Z to make another T-spin. He stacks to make the T-spin overhang with the lavender blocks. |
| 5 | 6 |

| The player completes the T-spin line clear. | This leaves this pattern. One can then repeat the steps to create more T-spins. |
ST stacking involves a form of repeatable stacking to chain an infinite number of clean T-spins and Tetrises to attack an opponent.
Then I watched the top Japanese Tetris player, Amemiya, on YouTube. His gameplay blew me away.
All of this catalyzed my desire to become as good as these players one day. And so it began a seven-year journey to reach those ranks.
I then devoured one Tetris guide after another, achieving incredible feats within the first two weeks of playing.
This involved making mid-game T-spin triples (an advanced T-spin variant) by my third day of playing. I could also make eight back-to-back perfect clears in my first week of play. I then memorized fifty openers by week two.
I then “accidentally” met Davdav and Cosin, now the founders of the well-known Tetris guide website, four.lol.
They advised me to set up a Twitch account to stream Tetris. Today, my ei_lara Tetris Twitch channel has grown to almost 800 followers.[8]
This deed allowed me to compile five years of Tetris footage and post it as YouTube videos. My YouTube channel, GalactoidTetris, now has over 100 high-quality clips and videos.
Then, specific negative issues within the Tetris community “accidentally” arose, prompting me to take the solitary route. It made me create Galactoid Tetris WordPress, the beginning of all things.
Over five years, I laboriously researched Tetris and published all my ideas there. I did not know it would eventually inspire my How-to-Tetris guidebook series.
And I would not have known it would lead me to create this Tetris spirituality book today.
Everything that had happened before this — from meeting PokeDialga, Davdav, Cosin, and more — occurred because of what I thought to be “accidents.”
I now see it as a larger, grander cosmic plan, arranged so I can finally write this book and share my spiritual knowledge with others.
Perhaps it was an “accident,” but now I see that making this book free on my website is needed to fulfill my life’s self-karma of teaching spiritual lessons and manifesting universal love and oneness.[9]
This was my tale. What is yours?
Personal, Social, and Global Applications
Letting Things Be
A Zen story tells of a little dragon who hurt himself while seeking enlightenment.[10]
He was disappointed and spent his time recuperating. However, while resting, he encountered a pristinely white stag that instantly mesmerized him.
He realized that, if it had not been for the injury, he would not have seen the beautiful stag.
The law of synchronicity entails that higher-order cosmic plans are in place all the time. We can work on plans and maybe even “rush” them. However, we cannot force the outcome.
In NDE accounts, it has been said that souls arrange for the problems and people that they will encounter in life.
One story that I heard from the YouTube channel The Other Side NDE was that an NDEr chose a specific bodily injury to learn how to cope with and overcome it.
Hence, many events may seem unrelated at first, but many incidents happen to us, and we may confront them and grow through them.
However, sometimes we force outcomes, hoping they will come our way before our time is up.
What happens when we force situations or outcomes? This happens, using Tetris as an analogy:
| Diagram Set 22-2 | |
| 1 | 2 |

| A starting field with a T-spin ready. | The player creates a crazy setup. He stacks another T-spin on top of the bottom T-spin! |
| 3 | 4 |

| Unfortunately, he must place the arriving T piece in this dirty configuration on the right side. | He stacks L and J in an awkward manner on the right side. |
| 5 | 6 |

| He completes the T-spin, clearing 2 lines. | The aftermath pattern is dirty: the orange L piece’s blocks cover the red-circled hole. |
Here, the player forces an advanced T-spin setup. The setup above stacks two T-spins. However, the right pieces or the field shape were not correct at the start.
As a result, the player stacks dirtily, creating holes and extremely overstacked, jagged shapes.
Instead, one should not have forced situations but instead gone with the flow like this:
| Diagram Set 22-3 | |
| 1 | 2 |

| The starting field. By this chapter, some non-Tetris players should be able to spot the T-spin opportunity. | The player only needs to place the Z piece to create a T-spin. |
Here, the player does nothing fancy. He merely places a Z piece to complete the T-spin.
The setup is opportunistic: most parts of the T-spin are already constructed, and the player needs only one addition.
However, some players do crazy things like this, below:
| Diagram Set 22-4 | |
| 1 | 2 |

| The same starting field as the last diagram set. | Whoa! The player creates the same T-spin, but with five pieces! |
Talk about redundancy! The player took five times as many pieces to create the same T-spin!
Hence, this is not an opportunistic setup! It goes against the flow of minimum effort.
This law of synchronicity can apply to real life in the following ways:
- Do not attach to outcomes. Observe and detach yourself from expectations. Flow with life and let miracles arise when they come.
- Force nothing to happen before maturity. You can plan for and actively work towards them, but one can never force what is not meant to be.
- Life is not a battleground or a race. There is no need to “rush” anything any faster than your spirit’s, body’s, or life’s natural rhythm. Relax and enjoy the moment’s flow.
- Life can only be beheld in all its glory at the end of one’s life. Do not fret if life is not going according to your plans. It is like reading a novel. You do not judge a novel to be terrible just from its first half. You judge it only after seeing the ending.
- See many things as opportunities. When bad things happen to you, learn from them and grow spiritually.
- Go with the flow. Self-evident.
When we live in accordance with this, the cosmos unfolds in ways unimaginable to our benefit.
Making Sense of Chaos
I was never a believer in Tarot or Oracle readings.
I do not believe, for the most part, that a person can use Tarot to predict the future, since the future is ours to walk and decide.
I also think that Tarot readings’ accuracy arises from largely scientific and logical reasons, such as the Barnum effect.
However, they are still useful, and I do not want to invalidate professional Tarot readers (read on for why!).
According to psychologist Carl Jung, synchronicity is a meaningful coincidence in which an inner thought, dream, or feeling aligns with an external event without any direct cause-and-effect link.[11]
In short, our lives are typically a random jumble of events that do not make sense or have causal connections.
Until we make sense of them.
I began keeping a dream journal to document my dreams. What seemed to be a jumble of disconnected dreams ironically gave me insight into my subconscious, and I saw solutions to many problems.
I will elaborate on this further in The Law of Energy chapter.
However, I will cover mystical psychology instead.
Reading the Tao Te Ching is often regarded as an exercise of mystical psychology. Everybody reads it differently and relates its themes to their lives.
This is the case with Tarot or other divination methods, like Oracle readings: I see them as psychological and therapeutic tools for looking inward, gaining perspective, and solving problems.
However, I do not regard them as having any cosmic or supernatural aspects.
For instance, in Tarot, if one picks a “death” card (which I did during a Tarot reading), it does not mean literal death.
Back then, I was undergoing a career shift after finishing my spiritual fantasy series. I was not sure what to do.
However, the “death” card symbolized the end of one thing and the birth of something new.
That new thing was my How-to-Tetris guidebooks and this Tetris spirituality book:[12]

When I connected the dots, this exercise in mystical psychology let me assess my life more intimately.
I am not recommending Tarot to people based on some unscientific grounds.
Instead, I am suggesting that Tarot, Oracle readings, or dream interpretation can be handy mystical-psychological tools for making sense of the random chaos of our lives and seeing order and purpose in it.
And that is the law of synchronicity applied to raising our self-awareness.
