Polymer T-spins

Polymer T-spins use a roof to kick in a T piece into the cavity. They are difficult to spot, but they may open up some options. More often, they are unclean as they leave a terrible overhang that must sometimes be skimmed off. Here is a list of tips:

  1. The key to using Polymers lies in only using them when there are no better or cleaner alternatives.
  2. Clean up the residue overhang properly through soft drops, skims, freestyle T-spins, or Tetrises.
  3. Fin T-spin double is the only practical Polymer. The rest are only used for fun, and I don’t encourage them.
  4. Extreme Polymers like Trehalose are outright worthless mid-game.
  5. Neo T-spin doubles are not too optimal, as, in most games, they count only as a T-spin double mini, sending only one line of garbage if back-to-backs are not on. The soft drop finesse and time penalties make them not so worthwhile.

I don’t have too many clips on Polymers. However, I will add more to this page in the future.

I present my Twitch Tetris clips, featuring my actual gameplay, to demonstrate the above. Below every video is a set of commentaries unique to that clip.

Enjoy! I hope you will learn from my demonstrations.

  • Note how the Fin T-spin double can be stacked and freestyled above it.

Standard Fin:

  • Don’t try this.
  • Impractical.

Trehalose:

  • Totally impractical spliced Polymer.

More clips may be added in the future. I have very few clips on Polymers as I don’t actively clip or use them much. More needs to fill this page.
