The reasons for requesting support are:

i. The Affordability of the Tetris Guidebooks

To make the 3 Tetris guidebooks affordable, I have set them at USD 24.99, 47.99, and 49.99, respectively, for Books 1, 2, and 3. Book 1 is already free on this website.

About 88% of the total cost goes to Amazon for printing costs, my royalty deductions, and taxation, excluding marketing costs. Thus, I earn only around USD 6 per book, in my goal to democratize Tetris knowledge.

My readers have given me feedback, saying that Books 2 and 3 should cost between USD 75 and 100 each. However, I have made them affordable.

Therefore, I really earn little for each book’s sale.

ii. My Free Tetris Guide Websites’ Maintenance

My two Tetris websites (howtotetris and Galactoid Tetris WordPress) are both completely free. I make not a single cent from sharing free content, despite the effort it takes to create free guides non-stop since 2020.

This website (howtotetris.com) charges $5 per month to maintain to make Book 1 and other free chapters of Books 2 and 3 (and future content) free. This equates to $60 per year.

My galactoidtetris.wordpress.com website currently uses the free plan, as I subscribed to it in 2021 and got the free 3GB package, which is no longer being offered. Currently, WordPress.com charges money for anything more than 1GB. While this is free for now, when I add more free content to Galactoid Tetris WordPress, it may cross the 3GB threshold. WordPress may also change its policies in the future.

iii. The Upcoming Marketing Costs

I intend to do some Amazon and Facebook marketing later, which may cost up to $3 to $4 per book, further reducing profits.

The current marketing plans are unknown, but they would likely be substantial.

iv. A Desire to Focus on Future Tetris Books

I am currently working on the fourth book of this Tetris series. I am also working on other Tetris-related works, such as (i) a Tetris philosophy and spirituality book, (ii) potential books 5 and 6 of this series, which I have planned, and (iii) a Tetris philosophical novel.

Thus, I wish to write them and deliver you all the content as soon as possible. Any donations would give me peace of mind to work on them more readily.

v. Covering Books 1 to 3’s Production Costs

While I have taken many steps to reduce costs, I have incurred significant financial costs in creating the books.

This includes (i) needing to compensate my consultant advisor, Dr. Tyler financially (at least $1250 for consultation), (ii) cover book cover, illustration, editing, and formatting costs (from Grammarly, ProWritingAid subscriptions, etc.), (iii) future marketing costs, and (iv) others (like replacing my keyboard to type out the work, etc.).

vi. To Recover from Burnout

As I have written in the link at the start of this article, writing Books 1 to 4 has left me quite exhausted. I currently need to go through some professional treatment to recover from the severe emotional, intellectual, and spiritual burnout of writing the books. Altogether, 2 years of therapy cost me about $2000 to deal with the fallout of writing the books so intensely.
